Preteen years
I am just warning you now that I am not so sure how well this list will be. I am giving it a shot and may even scrap it. I promise I will do at least 25! So let's get this party started...right now!
1. When I was 7 I had chicken pox. I was the first one to get it in my neighborhood so we had a "chicken pox" party so I could spread this virus to other kids.
2. I had my tonsils taken out before I can even remember. Which I think is a good think since I have never really had a sore throat since. It gets a bit tender/raw right before I get sick.
3. I remember my first time sleeping in a tent. I was so scared but was still really excited. I remember seeing the campfire dance on the tent walls and I screamed for my mom.
4. My first 8 birthdays were held at a roller rink.
5. My next 3 were at Chuck E. Cheese.
6. I pushed a boy down during recess and he fell back and banged his head on the bottom of the slide. You know back then, the playgrounds were good sturdy steel. He was bleeding all over the over his clothes and rushed to the hospital to get stitches. I don't even remember why I pushed him.
7. I had a crush on my 1st grade teacher. Mr. Sloan was so cute.
8. I was/am a tomboy.
9. My brothers were horribly mean to me. I never was able to really hang out with them. The worst day I shared with them is when they decided to use me as target practice with their new BB guns.
10. I loved to help my mother garden. I was always so proud of my peas, lettuce and pumpkins. By no means were these blue ribbon but I had grown them and as a young girl I had a great sense of accomplishment.
11. On a Memorial Day picnic with my family, I made smores over the BBQ for my dessert. I was so simple.
12. I liked playing with the snakes my brother would bring home. I didn't like when they played snake baseball. They would throw the snake up and swing for the fences with a bat and kill the snake. I hated that.
13. I was never all that "popular" in school. I just tried to be as quiet as possible and do what was asked of me. I remember we had been talking about Europe or Italy...can't remember. Any way, Italy came up and the teacher was asking us questions and I at some point I had raised my hand and said, "It's also known as the boot country". My teacher was kind of impressed by this trivial piece of information. The girl next to me stated, "I didn't even know that!" I never forgave her. From that day on she was a bitch and will remain that way to me.
14. I was the best seller of girl scout cookies for 3 years in a row. Have to thank my parents for that. They would shamelessly plug the cookies at work and I didn't have to do a thing.
15. I caught and ate my first fish when I was around 5-6. I think it was a trout.
16. We spent many weekends during the summer with friends that had a cabin way back in the woods. It was on a lake that was hidden. I used to think it was the most beautiful place I had ever been as a youngin.
17. While at that same cabin was the first time I used a paddle boat. I actually did nothing but steer with that handle in the middle.
18. I loved covering my school books with brown paper bags. I would decorate them with pictures and drawings. I remember I clipped out a headline that was funny to me. It read 'guerrillas kill 2 men' I was thinking gorilla. My mom made me take it off.
19. I enjoyed t-ball. I seemed to be a bit better than all of the other boys that I played with. I remember groaning when the boys would swing and miss the ball.
20. I moved between my 5th and 6th grade year of schooling. I was devastated.
21. I spent that first summer of our move in the woods. I would just walk all day and come home. I would see other kids playing and was never invited to play with them. I wasn't looking forward to the first day of school.
22. I was looked at like a freak. I could hear snickers and and some full frontal bitchiness. You know at that age kids have zero social filter.
23. I eventually came into my own and was befriended by some of the girls and boys.
24. I was put into an "advanced" class for 2 hours out of my day in 6th grade. I was looked at as a nerd and geek. I was the typical ugly duckiling that fit the bill.
25. This fucking list is hard as hell. Damn you Mona!
That was just a highlight of the first 12 years of my life. Nothing to special. I am hoping that I can rustle up some better lists as I progress into adulthood. I am finding that I am a very boring person. Maybe this list wasn't that great of an idea. Honestly, this list shit is hard. Not sure how I will be bale to come up with 76 more items to share.

Yeah it's a painful excerise but I am determined to finish it...I actually liked this start though. I find these things so interesting to read about other people...just boring as hell to write about myself.
I say well done.
Thanks Mona! I am not a big fan of chatting of myself. Makes it so hard. I need to think of thing rather than sitting down and going on the fly.
