Ma Nature week
What a week. First the earthquake then the hurricane. The earthquake was actually pretty uneventful but was pretty scary on some other areas around here. Then this awful Irene comes rolling in and ruined my whole weekend. Actually it wasn't too bad. I hate hurricanes and applaud all of you people in the Gulf Coast region. I hate the fact that you have a weeks notice and then CNN makes it seem like the worst thing in the world.
I woke up Saturday morning to spitting rain and a light wind. By the time I had come back from getting a bagel it was raining and a bit windier. I had all the gear to weather out the weather. I just hunkered down and laid on the couch looking outside periodically. Of course it got worse as each hour passed. I fell asleep around 1am and woke up to sunny skies and a bit of wind. I hadn't lost my power once. My satelite went out a few times. Thanks to DVR it didn't bother too much. All in all I think we dodged a bullet and I am a-ok. I walked around my neighborhood and saw a few trees knocked over and that was pretty much it.
I hope everyone else made out as well as I did.
