Well, I was at the Dell site today and "built" my own notebook. It started off at $688 and soon escalated to over $1,500. I have no idea what the fuck I need or want. Like I said, I want a basic laptop that I can use to surf the net and be wireless. Guessing I would like some form of word program to write.

I saw some good ones on ebay...well at least they seemed good. I don't even need to be able to burn CD's..however that would be nice. But not important. So can any one tell me what I should be looking for? What is a decent "hard drive", how much memory should I have? I don't know shit about computers! I think I read something about a wireless card that comes with the laptop and have no idea how that works. Do I just plug in close to a "hot spot" and am then connected to the internet? I need help!
